Mistakes

The first time I got my
mama's bike punctured,
I was terrified of the
consequences that would
follow.

And when I hesitantly
revealed it to him,
he said no problem.
He would get it fixed.

For the first time ever
I felt like it wasn't my mistake.
I learned that day that
The bike puncture was a
normal occuring and that
it was alright.

It was as if someone
hugged me into consolation
for a crime I didn't commit.

For otherwise I was
accustomed to constant
nagging of my father for
every small mistake.

That's how it is.
Letting us make mistakes
is one thing, teaching
how to land once we're
in a trajectory is different.

Just like how "living" is
different from "Not dying".
Both are important to
get by anyway.
