How am I?

How are you? She asked;
With an ear to ear grin.
Like nothing ever happened.

I'd to walk through,
The cacti infested;
Barren lonely mind of mine.
Cross the treacherous
Shadows of my insecurities;
To mask some awkward instincts.

From the ruthless snare
Of my obsessive thoughts,
I pulled out a smile.
The ear to ear one;
And said, "I'm fine".
Like nothing ever happened.
